"Corallimorphus profundus" sensu Riemann-Zurneck & Iken, 2003
(photos of Dirk Schories : specimen from King George Island, Antarctic)
Corallimorphus profundus is an abyssal species living at great depths. In 2003 Riemann-Zurneck and Iken identified and described shallow-water corallimorpharian from Antarctic Peninsula as Corallimorphus profundus. A species on the photo from relatively shallow waters of Antarctic Peninsula certainly belongs to the species described in the paper of Riemann-Zurneck and Iken (2003) as Corallimorphus profundus, but whether it is identical with true abyssal Corallimorphus profundus is still an open question (in our opinion they may be different).
